Boston, MA–based flutist Dr. Amy Sue Dombach performs as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician. As a scholar, she has become an authority on the development of the flute concerto in 20th Century America. As a teacher, she leads vibrant studios privately and at the Community Music Center of Boston, where she also serves as an outreach teacher and director of large and small ensembles in various Boston Public Schools. Known for greatly inspiring students, she is a nurturing, goal oriented, and organized teacher. Patient and kind, Dr. Dombach fosters educational techniques that easily translate into academic areas, while also establishes lasting relationships with her students and their families. In addition to adjudicating flute competitions, she has performed and led masterclasses in flute pedagogy, performance practice, musicology, and teaching pedagogy throughout the US and abroad.
